Organizing & Ideating: AI as Your Planning Partner! & This Weeks Q&A
QUICK NOTE: Our Q&A for this week is happening today (July 3) at 3pm ET. The Q&A will happen in our new online community supported by Green Mellen. If you haven’t joined that community yet, please take a moment and do that now. It’s all free.
Hi everyone,
You're doing great with integrating AI into your daily tasks! For our third assignment this week, we're going to explore how AI can help with those crucial organizational tasks like meeting preparation and the always-important process of ideation and planning. Nonprofits often juggle many ideas and initiatives, and AI can provide significant clarity and structure.
Assignment 3: AI for Organizational Clarity: Meeting & Ideation Support
For this assignment, choose one of the following scenarios and use an AI tool (ChatGPT or Gemini are excellent choices here) to assist you:
Meeting Preparation: Think about an upcoming meeting you have. Use AI to generate 3-5 key discussion points, or brainstorm potential solutions for a specific challenge that will be on the agenda.
Example prompt: "Generate 5 key discussion points for a quarterly board meeting focused on attracting new corporate sponsors."
Ideation & Brainstorming: Need fresh ideas? Use AI to brainstorm concepts for a new fundraising campaign, a community engagement program, or even topics for your next newsletter or blog series. Aim for at least 3-5 distinct ideas.
Example prompt: "Brainstorm 3 unique, low-cost fundraising event ideas for a youth mentorship program that appeal to young adults.”
As you work, pay attention to how you refine your prompts through iteration. Did the AI generate any ideas you hadn't thought of? How did its output help bring clarity or structure to your thoughts or plans?
Share your thoughts in our new community (TheGoodCollective.US). I'm looking forward to hearing how AI helps you organize your efforts and spark new ideas!
Best,
Adam
